Temporary regulatory change on entry for Belarusian, Russian and Japanese citizens

On 19 March 2020, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced some temporary regulatory change on entry for Belarusian, Russian and Japanese citizens.
To strengthen measures in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the community, the Vietnamese Government has decided as follows:
- From 12:00, 21 March 2020, temporarily suspended unilateral visa waiver for citizens of Belarus, Russia and Japan and holders of visa exemption certificate for people of Vietnamese origin and their family members.
- Belarusian, Russian and Japanese citizens who hold ordinary passports will still be able to visit Viet Nam provided that they have obtained proper visas prior to their arrival.
- This decision is not applicable to diplomatic or official passport holders that are eligible to enter Viet Nam without visa in line with the Arrangements on visa exemption between the government of Viet Nam and the government of Belarus, Russia and Japan.
- Belarusian, Russian and Japanese entrants into Viet Nam shall be subject to medical preventive measures in accordance with the applicable Vietnamese regulations.
Viet Nam has informed this decision to the above countries and will continue to coordinate closely, as well as have adjustments accordingly in line with the development of the outbreak./.
